If youâre ready to stop guessing and start knowing why your writing works (and how to fix it when it doesnât), Enhance Your Storytelling is for you.
Over 16 focused weeks, youâll learn the core techniques behind powerful storytelling â and, just as importantly, how to revise your writing using those techniques. Through live teaching, guided revision sessions, personalized feedback, and optional 1:1 support, youâll build clarity, confidence, and a repeatable craft process you can trust.
Join Enhance Your StorytellingConsidering Your Options?
If youâre looking for ongoing support, consistency, and community alongside your craft development, some writers choose to begin inside the Write Things Community and add Enhance Your Storytelling as their next step.
In that path, writers often use their Private Feedback Group (PFG) for reader feedback in place of private 1:1 sessions, while still benefiting from the full EYS curriculum, live teaching, revision training, and Trevor Assistant feedback.
Both paths are designed to support growth â the right choice depends on whether youâre seeking more individualized coaching or a community-based feedback experience.

How Enhance Your Storytelling Works
Enhance Your Storytelling is a live-taught, 16-week craft program built around a focused, repeatable learning cycle designed to help techniques actually stick.
Each unit follows the same intentional rhythm:
1. Learn the Technique (Live Teaching Session)
Each unit begins with a 2-hour live craft lesson where I teach a core storytelling technique in depth â what it is, how it works, and why writers use it.
Youâll see examples, explore common pitfalls, and build a clear understanding of how the technique functions on the page.
2. Try It in a Low-Pressure Way
After the teaching session, youâll apply the technique in a short, focused 50-word exercise.
This isnât about perfection â itâs about experimentation.
You can use Trevor Assistant for quick, technique-specific feedback to test your understanding and prepare for revision.
3. Learn How to Revise Using the Technique (Live Revision Session)
Next, we meet for a live Revision & Application session (60â75 minutes).
This is where the real learning happens.
In this session, we focus on:
- how to recognize the technique in your writing
- how to decide when itâs needed
- how to revise a passage intentionally
- how to strengthen scenes without starting over
This step teaches you how to fix your work â not just write new drafts â which is what builds long-term confidence and skill.
4. Apply the Technique More Fully (Your Way)
After the revision session, youâll receive a suggested assignment to apply the technique at a deeper level.
You can choose how you want support:
- work independently
- use Trevor Assistant for targeted feedback
- bring your work to a 1-hour private session with Trevor
- or share it with your PFG for reader feedback (Write Things Community members)
Youâre free to use one option or combine several â the goal is learning, not pressure.
5. Personalized Story Development Support (1:1)
Throughout the program, youâll also have four 60-minute Story Development Intensives with me.
In these private sessions, we review up to 1,200 words of your writing and focus on:
- identifying whatâs working and why
- spotting high-impact revision opportunities
- applying course techniques to your specific project
- clarifying next steps that move your work forward
This cycle repeats across eight units, giving you a clear, sustainable path to deepen your craft â one technique at a time â while learning how to revise with confidence and intention.

"I am very much enjoying Trevor's "Enhance Your Storytelling" course. In having already started unit 3 out of the 8 units, I am finding it both challenging and rewarding.
I've also submitted both end of unit 1 and 2 assignments in "Trevor Assistant" which is super interesting. Thank you Trevor for making that available to me as it is very helpful in pointing out how I can improve my pieces. I also appreciate how it affirms and encourages just like you do in person, so it's interesting that it has your voice."
