Hi, I'm Trevor Martens

I love encouraging and supporting individuals to find self-confidence, self-worth, and a deep knowing that they are natural storytellers.

I have a rich background in education and a passion for nurturing the creative spirit. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, I embarked on a journey that seamlessly blended my love for teaching and writing.

Armed with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education, I dedicated 16 years of my life to education, with 15 of those years serving as a High School English teacher. During this time, I became deeply invested in fostering a love for language and literature among my students.

However, my own dreams beckoned, and with a courageous leap, I decided to leave the traditional classroom setting to pursue my own writing career and extend support to other aspiring writers. Over the past six years, I have co-facilitated writing groups, cultivating a community of passionate individuals eager to express their creativity.

A seasoned professional in the world of words, I have also spent four years as a Professional Editor, honing my skills to refine and elevate the work of fellow writers. In my pursuit of sharing knowledge and inspiring others, I have been teaching writing workshops full time in Winnipeg and Niverville since my retirement from traditional teaching.

Beyond the world of words, I find joy in the simplicity of life. I am happily married to a lovely lady, and together, we are blessed with a daughter and son who bring immeasurable joy to my life. My passions extend beyond the classroom and the written page; I am a wizard on the ping pong table, love live comedy, and relish the tranquility of the outdoors.

In essence, my journey is a testament to the belief that pursuing dreams, whether in the realm of education, writing, or personal interests, is a fulfilling and transformative adventure. I am committed to not only crafting compelling narratives but also empowering others to find their voices and share their stories with the world.
